Showing Up vs Giving Up – How to Stay Grounded When Life Feels Hard

Lately, I’ve been feeling the weight of the world—both personally and collectively.

There’s grief in my own life. There’s heartbreak and instability around us, from health crises and relationship challenges to the larger devastation we see unfolding globally.

We are living through immense change—and we’re being asked to hold so much.

So how do we keep showing up?
How do we stay true to ourselves and not give up, even when things feel uncertain or overwhelming?

This has been on my mind a lot lately, and also in the work I do with clients. I’ve been supporting people who are navigating huge internal shifts—those questioning their purpose, creativity, voice, and value.

Some of the recurring themes I’m noticing:

  • Disconnect – Feeling detached from your own voice or creativity.

  • People-Pleasing – Saying yes to others at the cost of your own needs.

  • External Pressure – Losing sight of what you want, trying to meet everyone else’s expectations.

But the good news is: these insights often lead to breakthroughs. And that gives me hope.

Five Ways to Keep Showing Up (Even When It’s Hard)

Stay Focused

Keep your eye on what you want to create, personally and professionally. Let your vision guide you.

Seek Support

We aren’t meant to do this alone. Reach out to the people or spaces that help you stay grounded and on track.

Come Back to the Body

Whether it’s yoga, walking in nature, or breathwork—do what helps you feel present, embodied, and real.

Value Yourself

You are not here to be perfect. You are here to be you. Prioritise self-care and let that be your foundation

Breathe and Ground

Embodiment helps us hold boundaries, know our truth, and not get swept away by external noise.

If you’re feeling the pull to clear what’s holding you back—to reconnect with your voice, your purpose, and your potential—I’d love to support you.

Applications are now open for my September Transformational Mastermind Group. These small, powerful groups are designed for those who want to do this deeper work in a safe, structured, and supportive way.
