Stepping Into Our True Value with Confidence

“Be the Honey”

Have you ever felt like you're doing so much—at home, at work, or in your business—but still not truly being seen, acknowledged, or valued?

It’s something I encounter time and time again, particularly among women.

In a recent workshop, many participants shared that they didn’t feel they were being taken seriously, or they worried that the world wasn’t ready for their offering. There was a strong sense that they had gifts and talents, that they knew what they were about and were good at what they do—yet this wasn’t being reflected in their business success.

In this blog, I explore why this happens and how we might begin to step more confidently into our power and purpose.

Why Does This Happen?

There are many reasons, each unique to us.

Somewhere along the way, we may have learned to seek validation through helping others. We avoid asking for more, and begin to believe that over-giving is enough. We internalise the idea that our worth is tied to how much we can do quietly, without asking for recognition.

Often, we hold back from fully tapping into our gifts, our motivation, and our “why.” Instead, we look outside ourselves—comparing, second-guessing, and anticipating how we might be perceived. But when we get clear on our motivations, strengths, and why we do what we do, we begin to attract those who resonate with us.

A business coach once told me, “Be the honey.” I understood this to mean that our most important task is to present ourselves and our work from the inside out. When we speak about our business or service in an authentic, purposeful and grounded way, it makes an impact.

In my work, I’ve often seen that once we fully accept our gifts, motivations, and experience, things start to flow and thrive.

Some Questions for Reflection:

🌿 Self-Worth & Playing Small
Why do I sometimes hold back from stepping fully into my strengths and talents?

🌿 Being Taken Seriously
What needs to shift—internally and externally—so that my contributions are recognised and valued?

🌿 Boundaries & Self-Respect
How can I honour myself more fully by setting clear and respectful boundaries?

🌿 Recognising True Value
Why do I give so much to others—clients, organisations, businesses—without always receiving fair value in return?

🌿 Receiving Real Value vs. Flattery
Is praise alone enough? Or am I ready to expect and accept tangible acknowledgement and compensation?

Starting to Shift the Pattern

✨ Begin by recognising the unseen work you do every day—the emotional support, the coordination, the creative problem-solving.
✨ Reflect honestly: Where have I accepted less than I deserve?
✨ Ask: What would valuing myself look like in action today?
✨ Practice receiving—whether that’s appreciation, support, or fair compensation—with an open heart.
✨ Spend time journalling on these questions, and truly listen to what arises.

When we start to value ourselves, the world around us begins to reflect that back.
It’s not about becoming hard or transactional.
It’s about living with an inner knowing of our worth—and trusting that it’s safe to be seen, celebrated, and fairly rewarded.

KNOWING AND HONOURING YOUR OFFERINGS

Too often, we undervalue the work we do—especially as women. This can show up in the clients we attract, the value we receive, or how we’re perceived in our workplaces and businesses.

In this uplifting and practical workshop, we will explore:

Clarifying your gifts – and how to speak about your work with confidence and authenticity.
Overcoming the fear of not being understood – by aligning with your deeper ‘why’.
Attracting aligned clients – and discovering the environments where your work is truly seen and celebrated.
Setting boundaries with love and strength – learning how to say both No and Yes with clarity and confidence.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to see you there.
